Description
Later to late 19th century. 2-storey with basement and attic, 3-bay flatted dwelling with shops at ground, stone dormers and in irregular terrace to E. Squared chlorite-slate rubble with contrasting ashlar dressings. Ground floor cornice. Stop-chamfered pilasters. Roll-moulded and chamfered arrises and stone mullions.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: centre bay at ground with panelled timber door with plate glass fanlight and flanking paired pilasters, fixed display window to right with in-canted door and flanking pilasters beyond; centre door shop to left also with dividing pilasters; full width fascia and cornice. Tripartite window to left at 1st floor, 2 windows to right and 3 steeply-pitched dormer windows above, that to left hoodmoulded and round-headed in broader gablet.
W ELEVATION: gabled elevation with 2 panelled timber doors with plate glass fanlights to ground left and 2 windows above.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: steps down to basement door at centre, and 2 margined stair windows above; small pitch-roofed bay projecting at left.
NO 7 RESTAURANT:
S (COURTYARD) ELEVATION: 2-storey, 4-bay house (converted to restaurant) with modern door to right, windows in flanking bays and further door to outer left. Ironwork forestair to further door at 1st floor left, 2 windows to right and further window to outer left, all with dormerheads.
4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows; modern glazing to outer left 1st floor and attic at S. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with cans. Overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding and decorative cast-iron finials.
