Description
Mid 19th century. 2-storey villa with classical details,
painted ashlar, 3-bay advanced left bay and good conservatory
to W.
Steps to centrally placed Roman Doric pilastered porch with
full Doric entablature (some guttae mouldings missing) with
wide cornice and pierced balcony over. Double-leaf panelled
door; pilastered reveals support moulded archivolt. Above
door, single light window with pilastered reveals; lower
sash leaded. To right, at ground, architraved window with
apron panel; large paired consoles support pierced ashlar
balustrade. 1st floor window flanked by paired
strip-pilasters rising to brackets supporting projecting
section of eaves. To left, advanced bay; full-height canted
window with pilaster-mullions.
Sash windows plate glass glazing. Angle margins and eaves
course shouldered at angles. Wide bracketted eaves.
Stugged coursed ashlar flank; corniced axial and wallhead
stacks; tall square cans with dentil detail.
Stugged ashlar rear elevation. Centrally placed tall arched
stair light with leaded glass. M-shaped slate roofs. 2-storey
gabled service/mews range to SW much altered and converted to
dwelling; brick with barge-boarding at gables.
Conservatory; ashlar panelled plinth supporting wood and
glass structure; mostly round-arched glazing.
Boundary wall of droved ashlar with polished coping. Tall
square painted ashlar corniced gatepiers.
