Description
Circa 1868. Double villa with simple classical details; sited
at junction of Prince Albert Road and Sydenham Road. 2
storeys and basement stugged ashlar, painted at No 7 Sydenham
Road; polished ashlar base course and margins; stugged
basement.
4-bay elevation to Prince Albert Road: outer bays at ground
floor, 3-light canted window to ground.
Above pilastered tripartite windows; inner bays; at right,
ramped pilastered and corniced doorpiece. Pilastered reveals
support moulded archivolt over leaded fanlight, double-leaf
panelled doors. To left; architraved window. 1st floor
windows with pilastered reveals.
Elevation to Sydenham Road.
3-bay; similarly detailed. Centrally placed doorpiece, and
single-light sashes to right, all detailed as above. To left
2-storey window.
Sash windows, plate glass glazing; upper sashes of No 8
Prince Albert Road with small leaded panes. Continuous cill
bands to ground and 1st floors. Modillion cornice. Axial
stacks slate roofs.
Rear elevation and E flank; stugged coursed ashlar with
polished ashlar margins.
Droved ashlar boundary wall with polished coping. 2 pairs of
tall square painted ashlar corniced gatepiers.
Interiors with good cornice plasterwork detail; glazed cupola
above stairwell.
